Objective
Being a Multi-Academy Trust, there is a more onerous obligation to account for costs across all schools under the management of the MAT board. Tollbar have therefore undertaken a considerable review of all expenditure, not least in respect of print management. Tollbar concluded that a reliable, cost-effective and efficient solution was required.

Tollbar MAT are an innovative organisation that is constantly striving for growth and improvement. As part of this plan, it is essential that their day-to-day workplace infrastructure operates effectively.
The Solution
Spectrum were invited to take over the service and support of the existing equipment initially to demonstrate that they could improve levels of service and communication. Spectrum replaced the original equipment over a period of several years, and we now maintain in excess of 150 Canon printers, photocopiers and wide format printers across the schools. Not only have IT@Spectrum installed the right Canon device for the right location, but it has allowed the introduction of systems that can better control usage, such as reducing colour print, double-sided print and encouragng ‘scan not print’ to reduce paper wastage.
The features that Spectrum have introduced are aligned with Tollbar’s requirements in respect of their tight procurement rules and the need to prove value for money. By going the extra mile and providing a bespoke approach to account management, Spectrum can give further transparency on spending and usage, providing broken-down device information, asset registers and unique reference codes, all so that the management of the Trust has greater peace of mind that Spectrum are providing an effective, value for money solution.
